Neurosciences
The Neuroscience Group within the department of Physiological Sciences has diverse projects involving behavior, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and evolutionary biology of the nervous system. Many of the faculty in this group have collaborations with other members of the neuroscience community at the University of Florida. Facilities available include those of the McKnight Brain Institute.
The Neuroscience Group and their research interests:
- Don Bolser - neural mechanisms of cough
- Paul Davenport - respiratory neurophysiology
- Linda Hayward - cardiorespiratory neurophysiology
- Rick Johnson - spinal cord neurophysiology
- Roger Reep - cortical circuitry; brain evolution
- Floyd Thompson - spinal cord injury and recovery
- Tom Vickroy - pharmacology of neurotransmitters
