Carl Hansen wins DVM Professor of the Year

We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Professor Dr. Carl Hansen for being awarded the title of DVM’s Professor of the Year! This recognition is a testament to his outstanding dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to his students and the field of veterinary medicine. It is with great pride that we share that Dr. Hansen was nominated for this honor by the Class of 2028, a clear reflection on the impact he has made on his students and the Vet Med community.

Dr. Hansen is a faculty member in the Physiological Sciences Department, part of the College of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Hansen began teaching in the late eighties. He started teaching at UF in 2023. Before that he taught several years at Florida Atlantic University. Through his exceptional teaching and mentorship, he has shaped the minds and careers of countless future veterinarians. His courses that he teaches at UF include Veterinary Gross Anatomy, Cardiovascular Physiology, Large Animal Anatomy, and Veterinary Neuroscience.

This award serves as a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Hansen’s excellence in education, his genuine care for his students, and his unwavering dedication to advancing the field of veterinary science. Congratulations again, Dr. Hansen, and thank you for the incredible work you do.
