CVM-Wide Phi Zeta Competition Highlights Departmental Excellence
We are proud to share that the department was well represented at the 2025 CVM-wide Phi Zeta competition that took place on April 24th and 25th, 2025.
Liz Brammer-Robbins was honored with the Excellence in Doctoral Studies Award, which recognizes outstanding scholarship by a CVM graduate student either nearing completion or recently completing a PhD within the past year. Congratulations to Liz on this well-deserved recognition of her hard work and academic achievement!
Qaim Mehdi earned 1st place in the CVM-wide Best in Show oral presentation competition. This event brought together top presenters from each of the five CVM departments, each showcasing their own research. Qaim’s winning presentation, “Elucidating the Maternal Transfer Potential of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in Sharks from Florida Coastal Waters,” impressed judges with its scientific impact.
Please join us in congratulating Liz and Qaim on their remarkable accomplishments!
