Christian Maugee, a Ph.D. candidate at the Center for Excellence in Health Technology (CEHT), was recently featured in a video alongside renowned scientist Bill Nye, popularly known as “The Science Guy.” Together, they explored the topic of Friedreich’s ataxia—a rare, progressive neurodegenerative disease that Christian both lives with and actively research. His dual perspective as a scientist and someone personally affected by the condition brings a unique and powerful voice to the ongoing dialogue around awareness, research, and advocacy for Friedreich’s ataxia.
