About Emma Schachner
Research in the Schachner Lab utilizes an integrative approach to ask questions about the anatomy, physiology, and evolution of the respiratory and skeletal systems in vertebrates. The lab’s primary focus is on the ecomorphology, physiology, and development of lungs in birds and reptiles, with associated clinical interests in the impact of trauma, environmental and climate change, and disease on the avian respiratory system. The Schachner Lab additionally has projects on the paleontology and soft tissue biology of extinct archosaurs (including non-avian dinosaurs) and specializes in 3D digital anatomical modeling and image analysis.
